Position Information The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets seeks a detail-oriented Office Assistant 1 for a temporary position within the Division of Fiscal Management, based at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse, NY. The assistant will support the team in preparation for the 2026 Great New York State Fair, managing essential administrative tasks including: Processing forms accurately Handling phone correspondence Tracking independent contractor documentation Preparing and drafting contracts Facilitating superintendent reviews Providing paperwork to State Fair Superintendents for review and submission for payment This part-time, hourly role offers approximately 20 hours per week, Monday–Friday starting May 1, 2026, through September 18, 2026, with increased hours from August 1 through September 18 and potential weekends. The position is located at 581 State Fair Boulevard and is represented by CSEA, offering a competitive pay rate of $17.35 per hour. Note, you must be available from May 1, 2026, through September 18, 2026. Minimum Qualifications There are no minimum education or experience requirements for this title.
